Getting started

How do I create my first session?+
Tap the + button on the Today tab, choose your session type (Event, Meeting, or Workshop), give it a name, and tap Start. Vennari immediately begins the ambient audio buffer.
What are the three session types?+
Event is for conferences, expos, and multi-day gatherings with many attendees. Meeting is for 2–20 person structured conversations. Workshop is for collaborative working sessions. The type controls which AI prompts and UI layouts are shown.
How do I invite team members to a shared session?+
From the session card, tap Share › Invite. You can share via link, QR code, or NFC tap. Team plan members join with full edit access; guests join read-only.
Does Vennari work offline?+
Core capture features do. The 60-second circular audio buffer, transcription (on-device Whisper), and all local capture work without a network connection. However, AI-powered classification, cloud sync, integrations (Notion, Salesforce, etc.), and social publishing require an internet connection. Data captured offline syncs automatically when connectivity is restored.

Audio & transcription

Why is transcription occasionally inaccurate?+
Accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, and speaker accent. Whisper.cpp (tiny.en or base model) achieves ~85% WER on clear audio. Pro users get access to the base model for higher accuracy at the cost of slightly higher battery use.
How do I bookmark a moment during a session?+
Tap the ★ button in the capture bar or say 'Hey Vennari, bookmark this' (if Siri / Google Assistant integration is enabled). The 10 seconds before and after the bookmark are highlighted in the transcript.
Can I manually edit the transcript?+
Yes — tap any transcript line in the Minutes view and edit the text inline. Your edits are preserved across AI re-classification.

AI minutes & tasks

What does each classification type mean?+
Task: an action the speaker commits to personally. Action: an action attributed to a named third party. Decision: something agreed upon. Question: an open question. Info: a notable fact or figure worth keeping.
How do I re-run AI classification?+
Tap the three-dot menu on any session card and choose Re-classify. This re-runs the Claude pipeline on the full transcript and updates all items. Your manual edits are preserved.
How do I export minutes?+
Tap Export in the Minutes view. Options include: PDF (formatted), Email to all attendees, Copy to clipboard, Push to Notion, Google Docs, or Salesforce. Enterprise plans add custom webhook destinations.

Face Vault

Is Face Vault mandatory?+
No. Face Vault enrolment is entirely optional. You can use every other feature in Vennari without enrolling. Non-enrolled users simply return no result when scanned.
What data is actually stored?+
Only a 512-float mathematical vector generated by ArcFace on your device. No photo is ever stored or transmitted. The vector cannot be reverse-engineered into a recognisable image.
How do I delete my Face Vault data?+
Go to Settings › Privacy › Face Vault › Delete my embedding. This permanently removes the vector from our database. Deletion propagates within 60 seconds and cannot be undone.
Who can scan me?+
Only Vennari members who are enrolled in Face Vault can be identified. Only other Vennari members who have the scan feature active at a shared event can scan you. You receive a push notification every time you are scanned.

Storage & cloud

Why does my phone storage show near-zero usage?+
Vennari keeps only a 7-day on-device cache of your most recent sessions. Everything older is automatically uploaded to cloud warm storage and removed from your device. The phone is always free.
How fast is cloud playback?+
Cloud warm tier (last 90 days) plays back in 1–2 seconds via CloudFront. Cloud archive (older) typically takes 10–30 seconds as files are restored from Glacier Instant Retrieval.
What happens if I exceed my storage plan?+
You receive an email and in-app notification at 80% and 95% usage. At 100% you can still read existing sessions but new captures are paused until you upgrade or archive older sessions.

Account & billing

How do I change my plan?+
Settings › Subscription › Change plan. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated). Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
How do I cancel?+
Settings › Subscription › Cancel. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. You can re-subscribe at any time and all your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation.
